Ixtapa Pacific Mexico

We just came back last night from Club Med Ixtapa. We arrived on Christmas day and left January 5th, 2025. This is our 2nd trip to club med Ixtapa. Our 1st trip was in April 2022. My husband and I, with our 13 year old teen.
We loved the place, the location, the activities, the connections with other guests and GOs, the weather and more! This is a great place for a family vacation, a couple vacation, or young adult vacation.
The pros:

• the weather is always steady there: 90 degrees F / 30 degrees C with no cloud or rain during both our trips. Almost always good weather garanteed!

• the location is gorgeous, beautiful sandy beach with room and shade for everyone, palm trees, the beach slope into the sea is not steep at all so it’s perfect when you have little ones around.
  Perfect also for building sand castles…

• Never any mosquito there!

• Gorgeous sunset over the ocean every single night! Makes for gorgeous pictures!

• the ocean temperature is always warm

• some nice waves every other day: perfect for teenagers and young adults wanting to surf those waves. Safe for little ones since the waves are not right on the edge of the beach (but where you can still touch the ground).

• the activities: the best of this resort: activities for every age, with proper and well maintained equipment. We loved playing beach volley daily. Thanks GO Bruno!

• we went sailing multiple times. True, some day are not worth sailing due to lack of wind, but we had good wind to sail more than once! Thank you GOs Paolo, Franco and another one I can’t remember his name right now (sorry),

• Tennis: my husband had a blast playing tennis daily in the mornings for group lessons, and at tournaments and “tennis under the stars” session. Shout out to Jorge, Dylan and Luna, who were not only very professional but also very friendly, bringing happiness to all GMs. Jorge, Dylan and Luna: we already miss you! Thank you Club Med for keeping the tennis courts open. We also play padel here at home but we don’t like pickleball at all. I know this is becoming popular, but without tennis courts, we wouldn’t come. So please make sure to keep tennis courts open there in Ixtapa!

• Food: not the fanciest compared to other club meds, I agree, but it was always fresh, lots of different salads, daily veggie juice made per your choices in front of you at breakfast, lots of variety, Overall, we ate very well (and we’re French and Americans, so we have high standards for food).

• We enjoyed talking with other customers that we met during our stay. This is the beauty of Club Med: with all the activities and the organization of the activities by the GOs, if you are open to it, you get to make new friends and many new connections. That in itself makes your stay a very successful one!

• Connections means also getting to interact with all the GOs and the chef du village Daniel. We enjoyed your presence, your listening, your reactivity to our suggestions or requests.
  Thank you Daniel and Nathan. It was a pleasure spending time talking with you!

• The pool: great pool, warm temperature daily. Not crowded even when the resort is full. We can find available lounge chairs at anytime, not unlike some other non clubmed resorts where you spend your time trying to find 1 chair for your whole family!

• great pool activities (water polo, aquagym…) and of course, the crazy signs

• Evenings: we love dancing, the crazy signs are club med’s signature to have everybody on the dance floor! So much fun for all ages!

• bar: all GOs are very friendly and professional.

• Rooms: quite spacious and comfortable. Not a 5 star hotel kind of room but very comfortable enough, always cleaned, well maintained. And by the way, you don’t spend much time in your room anyway.

• Daily night activities: show or karaoke or other themes.

• Last but not least: kudos to GO Issam: he is not only very friendly and professional, he is a great Sport Manager. He has a great listening ear, he is actively responding to the customer’s suggestions, and made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you Issam for all you do. Personally, we think that Issam should be promoted a Chef de Village sometime soon: he totally has the qualities! Issam went far and beyond communicating with other GOs whenever it was needed, he helped our teenager get the confidence to get out of his comfort zone and sing at karaoke night.
  He has been leading many fun crazy signs dancing evenings, and even made sure to accommodate the customers tastes in music! All generations had a great time. Issam knows how to listen!
  Issam: we have enjoyed getting to know you and we wish you all the best in life for 2025 and beyond!

• so much more to say. Club Med Ixtapa was once again a great vacation which we enjoyed very much.

The cons:
None, unless you don’t like to do any activity or you don’t like socializing. There is always better on earth for some of the things, like some other reviews ate mentioning, but not all of them combined. We’ve been to other highly rated non club med resorts, but we were rapidly bored because we wouldn’t meet other people, there were very little activities. Club Med is so much better just for that! Go Club Med Ixtapa!

We love going to Club Med Ixtapa and had a great time during Christmas week 2024! Christmas Eve was a very special celebration. Shoutout to Hector at Reception who really made our trip memorable by being super inviting to our family and fun to hang out with. The entire GO team works so hard to make our vacations great!

My family and friends had a great week at Club Med Ixtapa. The staff was so friendly and the location was so beautiful. I loved all of the activities. The instructors Luna and Dylan at Pickleball were fun, energetic and informative and Yuki at The Fitness Palapa was a great instructor. Her infectious smile and commitment to making each class new and different was appreciated.
